Neutral Milk Hotel fans ... heads up ...

"On November 22, Neutral Milk Hotel will release a vinyl-only box set that includes all of the group's albums along with 15 previously unreleased songs. The band has been streaming those songs here for the past several weeks; the latest track to go up up is "Little Birds (Unfinished Version 2)," from the "Little Birds" 7-inch. Also on Neutral Milk Hotel's website: A cool podcast featuring a mix of obscure folk, gospel, and ethnic songs handpicked by Jeff Mangum. [Via Pitchfork]"

Here's a link to the stream page on Neutral Milk Hotel's web page:

I heard about this a few weeks ago - thank you for posting it here!

I'm planning to pick it up since NMH has been a longtime favorite.

It looks like Mangum might be coming out of the woodwork. He's put on a few shows lately and we're getting this.

If only he'd reform NMH and put out a few more albums. I'd love more material and a chance to see him live.

While on the topic of E6 bands, there are rumors that the Olivia Tremor Control might put together a third album. That would be cause for much celebration.

I like them quite a bit, too .. although I'm no afficianado. At their lovely and hopeful and morbid best (think "Ghost") ... they rival pretty much any other hamstrung, low-fi electricfied act ... really gross and sweet! ... sort of queer but awesome at the same time. I have several of their albums digital but no vinyl .. thought it kind of cool that they would go "interactive" with this bit. Fun ...
