USB DAC With iPad2

I've been enjoying my iPad2 with Home Sharing. I'm using a Bithead (very under rated amp) out of the headphone jack feeding HD 600s or Grado SRs. I have the camera kit and tried using the Bithead, but got nothing. Just an error that the device requires too much power or something like that. Am I missing something? I' really quite surprised how good it sound through the headphone jack. cool.gif

Sorry, haven't been here in awhile. Getting ready to go back to S.Korea next month.

I have been playing with the Ipad2 and Ipod touch 4th Gen.  Both have pretty decent audio.  The Ipad2 is capable of asyc USB out.

Apple managed to close off the camera connector since v4x of the firmware and this has created the "this device is drawing too much power" message.  limit for an external device is 20mA.   There is a quick and easy fix to clear this message up.  What you will need to do is plug your ipad2 into a powered usb hub.  This technique works well for USB DACs, some keyboards and just about all FAT formatted thumb drives with the (DCIM) folder.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. I had a feeling it had to do with power cool.gif
