Looking for a set of headphones for K-rock and K-pop

Hello, and thank you in advance for all those who are willing to share there thoughts with me :-).

I am currently looking for some good headphones to help make my listening experiences better, the genre I find myself listening to most is K-rock and K-pop.  I listen to most of my music on computer and Iphone, so would prefer a pair that sounds fairly well with a portable amp or no amp at all in the price range of $300-600 would prefer lower then more expensive though.  What I have currently are unamped HD280's and I just don't like the vocals that come out of them very much.

some examples of songs I listen to would be

I would appreciate any advice that you are willing to offer and thanks in advance once again :-).

P.S. I also wear earring studs so round open headphones might not fit right :-(

If full size is not your cup of tea, Grado seems the only option for you.

full size would be more what i am looking for because if it doesn't go around the full ear and rests on lobes then it hurts pretty bad pretty fast, thank you for the advice though!

Can you describe what you don't like about the vocals on the 280s?

I don't listen to any Korean Pop/Rock, but I do often listen to Jpop and even Cantopop.

A favorite headphone of mine for this is the Koss Pro DJ 100. It does vocals extremely well and has some forward mids with a good amount of bass (not lacking in any way IMO).

You can use the M50 pads on them to improve comfort. They do need an amp though. The M50 pads do not rest on your ears and fully surround them.

They run anywhere from $70-$80 and lately are often on sale.

For K-POP, only Grado works.

For cantopop Sennheiser is a more popular choice.

J-pop, SONY.

good bye.

Hello Kiteki which one do you think is more suitable for J-pop Sony or Audio Technica in ear earphones. I am thinking of getting either a EX1000 or ck100, i listen to mostly Japanese female vocalists like ZARD, Natsukawa Rimi, Momoe Yamaguchi etc.

Thanks.

Not really sure about anything else, but i find the HD598's amazing for J-pop. (I dont have any headphone to compare them to however)
