Best Amp + Dac for $200-300

Hello all. What are my best options for amp and dac for said price range for my Beyer DT880 600 ohms? I will be using them out of my computer. (No soundcards please.) As long as it is transportable (smaller than a stereo receiver) it will be fine. I'm looking for something that is bang for your buck and also syncs well with the beyers. I do not mind buying used. This will also be my long-term rig that will hopefully carry me through many years. Any advice or suggestions?

Fiio e7/e9 combo?? great bang for buck i suppose. Those headphones would need plenty of power though.

I agree that e7+e9 is an excellent value, but I don't think that it has the grunt to drive the beyers. I may have also been misleading when i said "bang for buck." What I really want is the best performing option in my price range for mainly one pair of headphones.

The E9 puts out a lot of power for its price and performance, just over 7Vrms (about 84mW) into 600 ohms before clipping. That'll drive your Beyers to 115dB. It also has very good distortion at 150 ohms, and probably just as good or better at 600 ohms. High impedance loads are easier on amps when it comes to distortion and the like, the problem is the headphones get less power per volt. The amp's high output impedance won't matter with your headphones.

I can PM you a good article (don't know if we're still not allowed to link to it) that reviews the E9. All of the big problems it has come into play only with low impedance, high sensitivity headphones. Yours are neither. It's a solid option for you.

I'm in the same situation, but with the Sennheiser HD650. Is the e9+e7 the best amp+dac in a 200$-300$ budget for the HD650?
