My newly acquired HD800s might not be the worst sounding... but they might be the worst smelling headphones!  Does that count?!

Original Skullcandy Hesh. Every tithing about it was just awful. Next has to be V-Moda Crossfades LP's bought them for super cheap and couldn't get rid of them fast enough.

Thanks,

Lol, I also remember them having a very strong factory smell to them in the beginning, I got used to it though :D

A pair of Philips I bought in the late 90s for my walkman, super tinny sound, all high fizzle!

I think I found something that pretty much deserves mention on this forum.

Never have I ever found something so frustrating and aggravating in the world of headphones, until now.  These are not only muddy, murky, pillowed, and bassy, with absolutely no sound stage, treble, mids or highs, but, (and by far the worst offender in my opinion) the left and right channels were swapped.  That's right.  They were SWAPPED.  I will be happy once I send these back, and get my credit back for such an atrocity.  In fact, hearing out of ears, filled with earwax sounds better than these!

WORDS FAIL ME at how this makes me feel.

I don't know what's worse:  The fact that this store claimed that they had Lenoxx Headphones in stock, when in reality, they didn't, or the actual headphones themselves that were sent to my home.

I find those headset provided on the airplane sound worse! First off, open headphones on an airplane! Second, so much harshness even with the airplane engine from the outside.

I have a pair of fluorescent green ear buds given out free on a tour bus.  They are astonishingly bad, would make an AM radio sound faulty.

Only use i have found for them is those first time power ups of freshly built amps.  You know, those will it make music or blow up headphones moments. As an audio reproduction device, forget about it.

Reminds me of the stock earbuds that came in with my first Nokia phone.

I'm hopefully upgrading my V150 and my Bass Freqs both to Portapros today.

Nady QH560 which I just received - there's at least one narrow (?) high-Q peak which makes vocals screech and sputter -- something like fingernails on a chalkboard combined with a fuzzone effect at one frequency combined with a rubbing voice coil sound combined with a cracked surround diaphragm tone - I think two Dixie cups with haphazard homemade voice coil, scrap magnet and wire coat hanger would sound as good in the mids.  Maybe two bad copies of piezoelectric lemon squeezer tweeter could emulate the peak ? - maybe not.  Good for waterboarding.

Worst one I've heard has to the the sklcndy sklcrshrs (too unworthy to be spelt right). It sound like someone said "Screw the treble! Let's have a bass only headphone! Have a nice distorted crappy bass and everyone will buy it!"

If we are talking the worst headphones for the price it would be Beats. The bass overpowers everything else and everything is MUDDY MUDDY MUDDY. I can't believe people actually like them. Plus the Studios claim they're used in studios. WOW.

My gripe is not the sound, I spent some time with the Solos and Studios, but the price.  This site is all about folks' personal preferences, so if someone likes the sound or style, let 'em have it.  I have seen posts claiming that truly good headphones, like the B&W's are too expensive.  Last time I looked the P5 was the same or close to the same price as the Studios.  Hearing both, it is hard for me to fathom that anyone would chose the beats over the B&W's...the difference is that striking.
