Only culturally - Bavarians (in the south) jokingly and lovingly refer to themselves as Bavarians first, and Germans second, but it is also probably the most stereotypically German part of the country.

I have never heard worse than those clip on earphones you get on planes. Truly one of the worst listening experiences I have ever had and it's the reason I make sure to bring my own headphones on to a long haul flight.

Yes. I would love to know who made that garbage and why they decided on two mono ports.

Well the two mono ports is pretty standard on older planes. Lots of 3.5mm headphones come with an airline adapter.

Skull candy GI/Skull Crushers the sound quality is enough to make you sick, fragile, terrible cables and extremely uncomfortable. they best thing about the G.I.'s is the bottle opener that came with them, it works perfectly and has been on my key ring ever since.

So in short the best thing that I've experienced from skull candy is actually a bottle opener.

I have yet to meet a happy skullcandy owner especially when it comes to those god awful crushers

I have an old pair of Realistic Nova 10s that sound just awful.  Not sure if it's because they sat in someone's dirty garage for many years before I got 'em, or if they always sounded that bad (I know a lot of headphones from those days were pretty bad).  I have some Nova 40s that aren't too bad if you can live without bass ;-).

I've also owned some terrible throw-in earbuds and on-ears that always sound so tinny.

EDIT:

Moved this down here, as I forgot these "don't count" :-D.

[For modern headphones, I have yet to get over how bad the BBDPs sound (I'll let you guess the name).  Muddy, no soundstage, overpowering bass that isn't even clean.]

The worst headphone IMO is a headphone that is expensive but sounds like trash. Because a cheap headphone you expect to sound like trash.

Good Point.

Of course i am not authority on this subject but i've written several research papers on austria (mostly 18th century diplomatic history that involves Austria, Ottoman, Prussia, Russia) during college and most of the literature i have read during the research seemed to refer austrians in the Vienna region (modern day austria) in such a manner.

Do they make a clear distinction between german people in modern day germany and austria very clear over there today?

I'm Austrian and very proud of it. Every austrian will tell you that we have absolutely nothing in common with our german neighbors, which is of course ********. wink.gif But we love our country and our mentality differs a lot from those of the germans.

Concerning the topic: the worst headphones I've ever heard came with a sixpack of Heineken beer. Haha. God, that was awful, even after drinking the sixpack.

I picked up some cheap Skullcandy earbuds at the Radio Shack down the street from my workplace as I needed something simple for work related listening that didn't have anything to do with music. One day, I brought in some more decent ear buds, Senns, for a direct comparison. It was a night and day difference for the Senns being so much better. Granted, they were hi-end ones, so it was expected. But still, it felt like final proof of concept for quality earphones for someone who is used to reading Internet comments about how they are supposedly all the same.

Would love to spring that experience on a non-headfi person someday if only to show that some earphones really are better than others. People just have no idea how big the difference is. Skullcandy is now the second most popular maker of earphones after Sony in North America, if I remember correctly. Maybe some of their better products are good, but I suspect the cheap stuff are the main sellers, and evidently they suck.
