 DAC

1. What kind of USB DAC circuit and/or kit do you prefer? i.e what you would reccomend.

2. Would you prefer regulated or unregulated power?

3. Should it be USB or mains powered?

4. Would you prefer a 1/4" or 1/8" stereo jack for the input/output?

Amp

5. What kind of amp do you prefer, solid state or tube?

6. What circuits/kits do you prefer and reccomend?

Would you prefer the product to be just a USB DAC or have the option to us the amp just as a headphone amp?

7. Would you like a gain switch?

Case

7. Are there any precortions you would reccomend me taking with the case?

Enviroment

8. What enviroment would you use the product under?

Usage

9. Would you use the product with IEM's or headphones mainly?

Thank you for your time in reading and answering this questionaire. All answers used will be credited to your Head-Fi username.

1: Native 24/192 over USB, but CHEAP

2: i don't know what the benefits are
3: DAC part would be fine USB powered, but a kettle lead for the rest of the unit.

4:1/4" but include an adaptor for 1/8" preferably gold plated.

5: both, with a selector switch to choose between the 2, also popular tubes for easy tube rolling.

6: combined DAC/Amp, looks tidy all in one unit.

7:??? be careful of sharp edges while your assembling it? tongue_smile.gif

8: Desktop

9: Headphones, planar magnetic, so plenty of power needed, maybe 3w?

I was thinking more like alumininum  sheilding for any transformers to reduce hiss.

Jeez... my laptop is just gushing with 24/192 music, it's like the hard-drive will explode if I can't get a 24/192 USB DAC soon. :)
