Need recommendation for a 100-200 USD PC gaming headphone...

... and to use for music too! I currently own xb500s and while I do like the bass with music, gaming with them aren't great. Budget is up to 200 USD. I was looking at the AD700 or the 598, but I joined this site just to find out the right headphones for my needs and budget.

 

P.s. I did not like the xb500s for gaming because I would get surprised every time a grenade exploded next to me... too much bass.

For gaming, it's good enough just to go with a G35 at $100, unless you want to hear the clear highs of every compressed file of a M4 being shot. G35's mic is will let you teammates hear you loud and clear and it's got a virtual 7.1 (It's not great) but it gives a slightly better idea who's coming to shoot you. I have them and so do gazillions of gamers and it never fails. I've even read reviews that they were surprisingly good for music seeing that they're gaming headphones.

Heya,

 

HD598 is great for gaming and music. Way better than the AD700 in all ways. Another headphone to look into, which is less expensive, is the Fischer Audio FA-011. Great for gaming, music listening, movies, etc. Overall excellent. Plus, it's classy looking. A used DT880 would also be an excellent choice.
