I've seen people say that the treble travels though the silver faster and messes up the sound.  That sounds close to what was said...

But treble is just a quicker change in voltage, not a different type of electron. If the electrons moved faster through the cable then it would be the entire spectrum not just the treble. ahhhhhh

Now that you mention it, the bass notes always seem delayed when compared to the cymbals in my music... I had never noticed until the moment someone mentioned it.

JRiver lets you invert the phase on the channels separately. Definitely messes with your perception of soundstage in an odd way.

The only way I can see something like this happening is due to damping materials inside which will attenuate certain parts of the spectrum moreso than others over time. In terms of wire, the only way I can imagine would be if it significantly affected the damping factor at particular frequencies.

This is the typical head-fi'er thread, I was making fun at the typical head-fi'er who surprisingly only hears problems with his gear when someone mentions there might be a problem, as in "everything was fine, but now the difference is night and day".

Let's face it, sarcasm is tough to pull off when you're on the Internet.
