Fun-fi's a whole different ballgame that I'm all for, as long as there are no pretensions of hi-fi. I've owned and lost a Pro 900 and found that, in the right mood, it could go a couple of songs, but listening fatigue set in rather quick. The Sony XB series or the last gen Denons are saner solutions if you're a basshead.

have you tried any of the aforementioned headphones? or just those bastard child pro900?

I've tried:
Ultrasone - Pro 900, Pro 2900, Edition 8
Denon - 1001, 2000, 7000
Sony - XB 500, XB700

And I've seen, heard and studied enough data to discount most of the Ultrasone approach. The ED 8 did deliver on the bling though smily_headphones1.gif

but you have never actually heard them. the pro900 and 2900 use the same driver but one's open and one's closed. I have never heard the ED8's but I'm not talking about them. I'm only talking about the headphones I have heard.

Well Apple says they rival high end headphones, so maybe I'll be selling my LCD-2s LOL

I'm looking for how long he's been using it and I don't find any. Yeah, I'm going to wait for more reviews.

Apples website talking up there own product. That's not biased or anything. Also you know their talking about the Beats when they say "high end" right?

That's a good point actually. To the normal people, Beats are the high end. And the Earpods will most likely be focused on them.

Right now, I have between 40 and 50 hours of effective listening on them.  Their characteristics haven't changed much since I wrote the review, when I had between 15-20 hours of listening under various conditions on them.  Their characteristics haven't changed much (if at all) after the first ten minutes or so.

And they still are exceptionally picky about amplification, which I find downright odd.
