Help Replacing a second broken Auzentech X-Fi Forte - Card + Amp

Hi All

Alas as the Title states my second Auzentech Forte has broken.  The first was replaced 1 week after purchase on Warranty and now the second has gone the same way outside of warranty this time.  It works on first boot however, go into a game and sound stops after 10-15mins.  So i have given up with it and need to replace it with a non Auzentech brand board (i loved it when it worked, but i am not taking the risk again).

As some back ground I mainly game and watch movies on my rig (note the movies are from Sky Anytime and iplayer etc) not blueray.  I watch bluerays downstairs on the TV etc.

For the sound card i am considering returning to Creative and going with

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD

However, i did like the amped headphone socket on the Forte as it sounded better to me with my Sennheiser 595's.

So was hoping for some advice as to possible options on headphone amps as i know very little.  but like the thought of keeping the sound card and the amp separate.

ideally i would then like to keep this setup for a couple of PC upgrades (which was the original plan for the Forte frown.gif )

any advice appreciated.

I'm all but certain that the Titanium HD does have an amplified headphone socket like the Forte, so you may not need a discrete headphone amp at first.

I don't have a Titanium HD, but my X-Fi Forte hasn't totally failed. (Front panel header has an intermittent but major noise problem, while the rear outputs are fine. If the rear outputs fail, though, I may just go Titanium HD shopping.)
