Introduction The easiest way to explain the Sennheiser CX-150's is that they do what you can reasonably expect. You can't really expect much from a pair of sub-50 dollar IEM's, and frankly, I...

post #452 of 374610/29/11 at 7:48amI do think you'll like the a2000x, if you can get a decent fit. I also found k501 to be of a similar style to the dba02, low bass quantity, slightly coloured mids and very impressive treble. I only sold my k501 because I don't use fullsize setups often, now that I think about it, maybe I should keep it lol.

What would be the most logical choice from the CK10 to full-sized headphones?
I also have the Sennheiser IE8 which I much prefer over the CK10 for most genres. The CK10's are only used for trance and classical, partially down to sibilance to which the CK10 conveys to my ears.
I'm looking for full-sized counterparts for both the IE8 and CK10. I really admire the cherry-wood W1000X, however most reviews, and impressions are highly contradictory to one another and leaves me rather obscure. I do apologise for my post being vague. Unfortunately I don't have extensive experience within headphones, nor do I have the greatest terminology in describing sound.

Thanks for making an account just to ask,I've been thinking about your question and the only full-size headphones I can think of that are similiar to the CK10 are SA-5000 and SRH-940.
SA-5000 is better for classical, and SRH-940 is better for vocals and layering, they're about the same price.
The W1000X and W5000 seem to have more bass and more detached/seperated soundstage, but I think pretty much everything else is better on the A2000X.
Audio Technica has a lot of models, the high end ones seem to focus on being more delicate and refined. I haven't heard them so this is just my speculation, it's just I think models like the AD900, AD1000 etc. quite likely have a higher joy factor than the top of the line models.

The old never released Keyaki is bio-cellulose, possibily very similiar to Sony R10... the new TH900 "Urushi" is a new model, with over 1.5 Teslas magnetic flux density etc...
p.s. I think Fostex make all the Denon headphones, so there is nothing 'modded' lol. ;)

My first impression is its a bit digital, but its still burning, combined with my TTVJ slim ($350 amp) it flies to heaven taking me with it, its med worm ,bass is still shy,
even without the amp I am impressed! give it some time to burn
Please may you confirm that the S:flo2/T51 does not show album cover for flac and mp3.
and you recommend on using the PC usb instead of the supplied adapter? and what is the average time to charge it
really appreciate your feed back

I always charge via USB, I heard it's faster via a wall outlet though.
Via USB it takes hours to charge, I don't know exactly... 6? I just leave it there.
The Line-out sounds like a hospital, you need to try the Headphone-out as well, with most IEM's I prefer HO.
Sometimes I have album art, sometimes not, it can even depend on the song within the album? I haven't looked into how that works, I'm not sure how specific songs can show album art.

my cowon uses album art in two ways, one; with mp3 is embedded and with flac a jpg must be included in the folder. some tagging programs will find art automatically, media monkey for example.
personally i use mp3tag for everything tag related including album art. i've noticed recently artists using more than one artwork per album.
i've spent too much time tagging and organizing, good thing i can listen while i do it. :)
post #461 of 374610/30/11 at 6:52amMy biggest complaint would be the lack of a lock screen button. I have to stare at the screen like a idiot for several seconds before putting in back into my pocket everytime i change a song, otherwise, I might accidentally touch the pause button or the eq button (happened several times). But otherwise, I like it. UI isnt apple-smooth, but usable, and much better than the hifiman.

My T51 settings are:
Display:
Cartoon Setting: Off
Brightness: 1x
Transparence: 5x
Text: 4x
Font: Song ti
Font size: Small
System: Style 2
Time:
Backlight time: 6 sec
Auto power off: 6 min
Sleep mode: off
Key LED wink: off
Other:
File align: by name
Key LED: On
Lock switch: Off
When the song is playing, drag your finger across the centre of the screen to see the lyrics, or visual effects.
"PlayFX: 3D" sounds pretty impressive on IEM's like the EX600, otherwise always keep the EQ on "Normal" or "User" if you have to (and then you adjust the values in "User eq").
I always browse music in "Directory", never in "All file, Artist, Title, Album, My Favorite".
External 16 and 32 MicroSD seem to work fine, I use a Kingston.
Decide on LO or HO depending on which IEM you're using and which one you personally think sounds better, don't just use the LO just because it's "supposed' to sound better, however using the LO will save some battery life.

On second thought, it seems like the new TH900 uses bio-cellulose as well... perhaps it's just a revision of the Keyaki afterall?Lesser good news, 150,000 JPY = $1,980 USD.
Edit: They certainly took a massive jump from the T50RP! ;)
Edited by kiteki - 10/30/11 at 7:45ampost #464 of 374610/30/11 at 7:36amI almost use artist exclusively. I would just use foobar to 'standardise' the 'artist' on all my songs, so whenever I click into an artist, I would see all the songs by him/her, it's like a playlist.
I also use favourite quite often. I keep my test tracks (10 or so tracks) in the favourite list so I can test out phones without having to look deep for specific songs inside layers of folders.
