Order of DSP plug-ins in Foobar

Does the order of the plug-in chain matter in Foobar, say if I put resample before or after EQ and crossfeed?

It does matter. In that specific case, you will want to put the resampler before the crossfeed, which then goes before the EQ.

O.k., thanks.  Resampler only goes up to 96khz, right?  Winamp's went up higher, but was always glitchy for me.  Kernal seems fine in Foobar on the Emu 0204.

EQ also seems to sound better than Winamp's.

The resampler can go up to 192KHz, with the even numbers in between, such as 88.2 and 176.4KHz, running perfectly regarding glitches.

Kernel Streaming is no longer recommended if you're using Vista w/SP1 or 7.

If you like foobar2000's integrated EQ, you should definitely try an improved EQ made by a Head-Fier: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=88505&mode=threaded&pid=760090

Oh, you just type them in.  Thanks.

I definitely can't use ASIO, because it's not working consistently with the 0204.  WASAPI doesn't seem to be working better than Kernal.  What's wrong with kernal in Win 7 64.

Base EQ in Foobar does not work as those standard EQ's (VST) you can find through KVR plug-in database.

fb2keq.jpg For use of VST plug-ins in Foobar you'll need a VST wrapper plug-in (George Yohng's VST Wrapper as for an example). Also for to use multiple VST effects in chain, you need a chainer plugin (Acon's EffectChainer is a good freebie). jiiteepee

That's the standard EQ in Foobar in the plot?  What does that improved eq mentioned above look like?

You can see the difference in picture showed on developers post at HA (link Roller gave).

You can also find that out by using VST wrapper + Voxengo SPAN VST (Spectrum Analyzer). Just place the VST wrapper after the EQ plug-in in Foobar DSP list.

Hi. Was away for some time, Head-Fi included, so couldn't reply sooner :)

The improved EQ looks like this:

Do read on the differences between it and the stock EQ on the link I posted earlier.

Yes, there are plenty of VSTs to be used through a bridge, but if you were using the stock EQ, I do think you will like this one. Later on, you might want to try different EQs if this one doesn't fit your needs.
