http://www.amb.org/forum/

Because this forum is such a great source of information and I like to keep abreast of AMB's latest projects.

http://www.watchprosite.com/

Because I love fine mechanical watches (not that I can afford one!) and this is the best forum (indeed site) on the internet on the subject in my opinion

Well way way back when, I went to overclock.net. It's a general computer enthusiast forum. More recently, I lurked on 4chan for a while (/r9k/ and /mu/ until r9k was removed, then I pretty much stopped). These days, I like the forums on a certain private music tracker. Also, do subreddits count? trees, atheism, and todayilearned are my favorites.

Droidforums, RootzWiki, and HPtouchpadforums. Yes, those guys at DF jumped on making a forum for the HP touchpad early heh.gif

r9k is short for robot9000. It was more or less a random board (an orange board, not blue). The notable feature (that set it apart from b) was that the 'robot' would not let you post (it would mute you) if what you said had already been said before (so you can't just post 'sage' or 'no u'.. it has to be unique. Same went for images. You had to color one pixel differently and put a muteblockrandomtextthing at the end of your post. If you tried to post a dupe, it would double your temporary ban time (so if it started at 1 minute, next you're banned for 2min, 4min, 8min, etc). It's hard to get any more specific, but it was removed in some restructuring or something. I forget.

To add to this thread, I've also lurked some other forums: Badger & Blade (mostly about shaving), Jemsite (information-rich guitar site, unlike UG, which is plagued by complete speculation by people who have never heard the equipment...), Gearslutz (music / audio recording enthusiasts), Fractal Audio Forum (they make a guitar pre-amp, an Axe-Fx, which I use), Basenotes (fragrances/colognes), and Macrumors. Can't remember any others. It's always nice to see certain users from this forum pop up in the strangest places (ie Uncle Erik).

FPN, B&B, ebay, craigslist... Do i have to go on?

Audiokarma- for information on vintage audio

Videokarma- For information on vintage video equipment since of course CRT is still king in video fidelity.

Gametrailers- for the funny general discussion boards talking about the weirdest stuff and making fun of the GT staff cause they serious are pretty dumb and Pc illiterate. i mean who in their right mind thinks they can overclock a dvd drive to make games run faster lol. i also go their for pc hardware information. surprisingly i think the pc section is the best when coming to hardware tech knowledge and very informative.

Guru3d- i only visit their for modded Ati display drivers and trust Guru3d for benchmarking new hardware since every other site i go to favors either nvidia or ati which is stupid and misinforming new consumers.

Headphiles- very friendly community with wonderful info and very helpful. Also has great respect for other people's opinions on audio gear. i actually like it over there more then here most of the time. i only come here to mess around lol.
