Testing Out Headphones IN-STORE before buying assistance!

Hello,

I'm new to the forum but a long time reader. I'm on a budget of around $200.00

I mainly play games and listen to music on the side. I bought the XONAR DG sound card and will be buying either the Sennheiser 598 w/mic or the PC 360s. I have read good things about the ad700 but from what I've read the other 2 headphones are better.

My question is, where in the world can i try any of the above listed headphones on to see if I like how they feel/sound? I live in the Baltimore Area, (21234 Zipcode) I have tried googling with no luck on finding such a store. I believe Guitar Center has some to try on but I have not visited there yet, any ideas? My last resort would be to buy both from Amazon, and then return one, which I don't really want to do. I am leaning towards the PC 360 at the moment, but it boils down to comfort. I have the creative sound blaster arenas, and they are alright, but they hurt my ears, and my ears touch the drivers yuck.

Thanks,

Barry

If you mostly only play games, I would say that you should probably just buy a regular gaming headset.

What kind of source are you using for your music?

I usually use Itunes to play music. I don't listen to music on the go or anything, mainly just itunes. I play games like Quakelive- fast paced sound is very important, and other games like battlefield etc..

Ive had creative sound blaster arenas, razer carcharias. Both of those sound like crap to me. I also have a pair of ATH M50's that sound very good for music, gaming it doesn't sound very great for positioning or anything like that. I use the XONAR DG sound card, recently upgraded to it from on board audio and everything sounds 10x better.

I use voice chat a lot though, ventrilo, mumble etc..

I think the 360's are the most suited for your needs. Their overall performance for gaming is awesome.

Even mad lust envy gave them a nice rating on his heaphone gaming guide
