Build Quality: PC 360 vs. HD 598

I've got my eyes set on these two headphones which I can get for roughly ($180) the same price. I will be using them for mainly gaming and occasionally music/movies. I've been researching them both for a couple of days now and the last issue I have to settle is the build quality.

 

After reading this thread I now have some doubts about both headphones/sets as they both have that band design. I believe in the thread, a Sennheiser rep. did say that they changed the material in the plastic, but does anyone have any experience with this new material? I'm leaning towards the PC 360's as I'd figure they would be able to take more of a beating since it is a headset designed for gamers.

 

If anyone has any experience or thoughts on the two, I would much appreciate it. o2smile.gif

My hd598 hasn't worn one bit.

Heya,

 

Get which ever one tickles your fancy. Both are durable. I've had a Sennheiser for over 10 years. Just don't set them down and sit on them or throw them from a moving vehicle or bend them backwards in half. You should be good.

That's the thing, the odd time I do drop them (cord gets caught in the chair as I get up) and they fall off the desk. I try to do the best but it happens. I used to own a pair of Zalman 5.1 headphones that started to crack after a year of use.

After doing some more research it seems that the cracking issue is fixed. Is the 598 a clear winner over the PC360? I still can't decide between the two.

Thanks, completely missed that guide. I think I'm sold on the PC 360's. The quality of the mic seems really good and that's important factor for me. I just put in an order for them for just $180. Can't wait! :)
