Debating on which one to buy. Barely found out about these gems today. I'm leaning towards the SR850 because aesthetically they look better IMO.
I'm coming from HD595's. Anyone know how those two compare to the HD595's? Thanks a bunch.

Heya,
They are literally the same. The driver backing and everything is literally the same.
Derp! Edit: I thought I read HD668B, not HD681, as those are different headphones.
(Concerning the SR850 and HD668B) Only the headband is different. The SR850 is nicer looking to me too, which is why I got it over the HD668B. I reviewed it. Link in my signature (SR850). They're actually sort of similar to the HD595. But I would say the SR850 can be a little more bright in the highs at higher volumes. And I would say the HD595 is probably a little more comfy (this is my opinion strictly due to my opinion of velor/velvet pads always being more comfortable than the alternative).
Why going from HD595 to these? Broke the headphone?
Very best,
Edited by MalVeauX - 9/7/11 at 8:52pmOh haha wasnt aware that they were identical. I guess I want to try something new. I've had the 595's for probably 3 years already. While they sound good, I'm always curious about other headphones :). And you are right, they are extremely comfortable. I might want to try one of the mods that change the padding of the samsons.
post #4 of 69/7/11 at 8:58pmMost rockgrotto members will rank 681(modded) > SR850 > 681 but i greatly prefer SR850 over HD681(modded)

Very best,
Thanks for the recommendation. How do the SR850s compare to the HD580's you have? I've read that the HD580s are better than the HD595s.
