Two Furutech FP-704(G) 1/4" Phone Plugs *FREE* (US only)

Since I'm not offering these for sale or trade, I don't think it's too inappropriate to post this here.

I bought these at the request of a customer. When I received them and opened them up, I couldn't believe what I found. A ground contact that's made up of three separate pieces, with the portion intended for soldering to being made out of steel. This isn't the sort of thing I expected to see on a so-called "high performance" plug that sells for nearly $20 a pop.

Both the customer and myself agreed that there was nothing to recommend them over the Neutriks, which use a single piece ground contact.

So I thought I'd just give them away to someone who can use them. Or someones as the case may be as I'd prefer they go to two different people.

First two to reply to this post can have 'em. And remember, US ONLY (I'm paying for shipping).

On your marks...

Get set...

Thanks for the dummy plugs Steve.

I agree with the poor design...similar to the Viablue plugs, I don't see why I should pay more than triple of a standard Neutrik/G&H/Switchcraft for a more complicated plug and crappier strain reliefs.

Yup. Though to be fair, the Furutech FP-704's do have the same nice collet/chuck type strain relief that the Neutriks do.

Sorry, was referring to the Viablue with regards to the strain relief.

Only niggle I have with the Neutriks is that the barrel simply slides over the plugs portion and it drives me crazy because it moves around since the hole in the barrel is slightly larger than the actual plug portion allowing some slop. Not that it's a huge deal because it doesn't affect performance in any way.

I've never noticed that issue with my Neutrik plugs when installed over a cable that the chuck closes over properly.

I use these. http://www.neutrik.com/us/en/audio/210_414982786/NP3X-B_detail.aspx

I use anything from 4.8mm instrument cable to 6mm quad and it still does that to an extent, but like I said, more or a personal niggle if anything.
