NFB-12 OR HRT MS2 + Mini3 for HD650

Hey head-fiers!

 

Just like the title reads, im interested in some new gear for my newly acquired HD650s. Mind you, i will be using my computer as my main music source so a usb-capable device is a must! My budget this time around is approximately 250, though i CAN stretch it to 300 if the product is outstanding. 

 

With budget in mind, i have come down to two contenders, the NFB-12 by Audio-GD or the combination of HRT's MS2 and AMB mini^3. Which do you guys suggest and why? My music library consists primarily of movie scores and symphonies.

 

If there are other products worth mentioning, please do so! Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

More power filtering and a quality power supply in the NFB12 would surely be better for SQ.... IMO. HD650 sound best with plenty of current which the NFB12 also supplies. I have not heard the HRT or the AMB though.

thank you for replying tim! the nfb-12 seems like a very capable dac/amp( from what i've gathered within the forum). do you feel that there are better products to be had that are within the price range of the nfb-12? i would just like to be thorough

None that I know much about. I have heard about the HiFiMan EF2A, the Fiio E7/E9 combo, Maverick D1. Looks at the build quality and power filtering/ supply and compare.
