This seems like a pattern anymore, and I want to know if anyone is actually doing this, or if it's just my imagination here.
It really seems like people see something like LCD-2, HD800, D7000, etc. and buy it because it's supposedly great. But then, rather than listen to what they already like, they ask the question, "What is the best music for (insert headphone here)?" Other people, like me, try something cheap, decide it's good at the music being listened to already, and scoop it up regardless of how "high end" or whatever else it may be.
So do you buy headphones (or speakers) to suit the music you plan on listening to, or do you buy the headphones because they're highly regarded as a top tier can, and then look for music to suit them?
Now I know, some of these headphones do in fact suit the listeners pre-existing preferences, but the frequent asking of the previously mentioned question seems to say that many don't consider how it will handle their music.
