Headphone pads for HOT and HUMID?

This year, I feel like getting a new pair of headphones. I have decided to focus on the aspect of portability, as I've been using the Shure 750dj's for anything aside from something so mobile (running, sports, traveling) that I would use my noise cancelling earphones. I have settled on the Sennheiser HD-25 II's and am about to place my order.

Where I live (south florida) it is still in the 80's and even 90's during September, and when I come back from a walk outside my Shure's leather pads are quite wet, and hot. Over time this has led to the pads actually hardening, as I have found when examining the unused replacement ones. Also, they aren't very convenient in this heat. So now that I've settled on the Sennheiser's, I've realized that they are more open for modification (cables, pads, etc) and I wanted to know what might be best for heat.

Biggest concern is: Is velour hotter than leather, or synthetic leather pads? I don't think I can wash leather, but could I just take off the velour ones and wash them as they are a fabric? I do not have too much experience on this sort of thing...

Velour by far. Pleather gets sweaty, foam just itches like crazy.

I think I would agree! I just got my HD 25's today, and I am prone to pain from supra aural headphones (or at least when I was using a cheap pair of supra aural Skullcandy's). The 25's came with pleather and a replacement pair of velour, and I am happy to say that while I initially found the pleather to be uncomfortable even though I did not test it out for a longer duration, the velour was noticeably better. I will have to order a pair of replacement velours in the future. I haven't gone outside in them yet, but I will take your word for it.
