I stayed sick, as I did the previous 5 days. Splitting headaches, and relaxing jazz and acoustic on my Grados :) Can't get away from them, but I had to bend the headband a bit to make them wearable with my head in that sttate :)

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

I just received my SigPros (bought from a fellow head-fi'er), and now have several hours with them. They are great headphones. Agree with most of what everyone's saying about them. These...

I discussed wanting/fancying stuff with my 7 year old. He wants Lego and $800 dinosaur robots, I fancy expensive stereo gear. I showed him my some pictures of my "dream" set-up, and he offered me to by it for me - if we found it at a good price ("daddy, you can get very good deals if you buy stuff 2nd hand, you know.." ) and he if could afford it.

Man I guess I gotta type this a second time. Darn Command+R...
Today I hope I can have a kick-it day. I've been in DIY hell of a non-electronic nature. I made Halloween costumes for my wife, my older son, and myself. I've never made garments before, so my son got the bad end of the deal since I did his costume first. By the time I got around to my wife's and mine, I was better in control of the materials and the 30-year-old sewing machine.
All this to do Halloween at Disneyland with the kids last week (it's AWESOME) followed by mommy and daddy time in Vegas. We flew back in, pickled, on Saturday night, picked up the kids from my parents' on Sunday, and tried to take the kids out yesterday. That didn't turn out so well because the little one is sick and the big one didn't take his nap. Finished the night downtown with my best friend, knocking back some really stiff Henn/cokes and using her as an excuse to chat up the nearest thing in a tiny costume. Apparently I'm her "buffer," and I suppose she'd be my wing -- fishnets and cleavage and all -- except I don't really roll like that anymore. It was a fun jump back in time, but I'm glad that's not my life at present. And I think I'm ready to sober up now.
FWIW, "tiny costumes" here in SF are not in the same league as "tiny costumes" in Vegas, says 2011 data. Here in SF one would have to mind the coastal air, and/or respect oneself.
Now I'm back at Head-Fi!
I've got a cable job to complete for someone. Being a fellow Head-Fier but not a MOT, I will be absorbing the costs, but it's gonna be a very inexpensive build in any case. I'm repurposing an orphaned cable for this job, so it's not as exciting as the last cable I made for myself, but I'm very eager to get back to my workbench. And there's an NFB-10SE there that I've been neglecting.
Kinda bummed I didn't win the CALs from Headphones.com. But I'm really bummed that I didn't design a shirt for the Fiio contest.
