Wire connecting to the casing is stuffy

Hi
Today my hd202 has died a bit and I want to repair them. The left side stopped working half the time as I moved my head around and then an hour later it stopped working completely. It is probably a problem in the wiring thats situated in the oval casing part.

I disassembled the headphone to see if there was any other problem and compared it to the right side and it looked fine.
So I am wondering what I can do to fix it up.

Here are the pics:  http://imageshack.us/g/716/imag0516k.jpg/
I have circled the part I suspect is faulty.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!! hate to buy a new pair!

Can't really see it from the pictures... You may want to check the solder joints, if those are fine the drivers are probably blown, though from what you described its probably a bad connection somewhere

Yeh, the drivers should be fine as they still work sometimes when I fiddle with the joint. How do i repair a joint? It has plastic wire casing around it and I have never done any of this before.

You'll need a soldering iron to repair any sort of wiring breaks. Examine the silver solder joint between the wires and the drivers to see if there's a break.. If not there then there's probably a break somewhere else in the cable, in which case you'd have to fashion a new cable.
