Hi All,

I noticed a louder sound at least +1.5dB,,  from (headphone port) after connected the card to a dedicated power supply.

(im using Normal Gain 0dB, with ATH-M50 headphone, and its kinda better in sound quality too.

I used to set the volume to the maximum, but now I set it to -4dB :D

more info:

(Windows 7 Ulitmate)

(foobar2000 1.1.17---ASIO)

(previous power supply- shared with PC 500W)

(current power supply- dedicated 500W)

What make was the previous power supply? For there to be volume difference, the applicable rails of that power supply would have to be sagging significantly.

Must have been a really poor no-brand power supply or whatever you used. Never skip on the power supplies it's like the heart for the computer, I use a Corsair HX 750W myself but yea I'm a computer hardware enthusiast so I need a little more power too. Now I heard low ripple on the PSUs can also help a little as far as the soundcard output quality goes but probably quite neglible differences if any. But that it would result in such big result in volume level sounds a little strange.
