Got some Sony MDR V6 headphones.

When I plug these headphones into my Marantz 1040..I get a loud hiss noise. And When I play music, I don't hear the hiss noise.

Later I will plug the Sonys into my Heed CanAmp.

Regards.

I purchased mine 10 months ago directly from a Sonystyle store in the U.S. and mine are made in Thailand.

My MDR V6s are not fully run in yet. They have good slam and detail, and are a bit harsh sounding.

Agian, they are not fully run in.

Forgot to ask, Are the older V6 (Made in Japn) more better then the Thailand made ones?

In my experience, the V6 doesnt change one bit with burn in. They sounded exactly the same for me out of the box as after 3 years of fairly intense studio use.

Good question, and does the E888 (Made in Japan) sound better than the Thailand made one?

I'd like to know, but don't want to spend $150 for a second-hand E888...

What I can say, is that my E888, MDR-V6 and MDR-EX600 all have flawless build quality and they all seem to be made in Thailand (Sony is moving out of China).

Hmmm. I have an old pair of v6s (about 8 years old) and they dont really get any less harsh sounding. If you want a smoother sounding hp, go for the ath m50. Its relatively inexpensive and altogether a great value.

mdr ex1000 has 75% of the same bass as v6 but is forward in vocals
