I don't think there is any difference in SQ. The V-80's are True Blood Edition (some gay vampire drama) M-80's. But i wonder why they down-ed  the price on the V-80's. That makes them so alluring now! The LP's were meant for DJ's, in a very noisy backgorund, like a club, while the M-80'/V-80's are a more audiophile friendly cans. The LP's sound really messy and super bassy, with hardly and highs. The M-80's/V-80's are a more refined version of the LP's. The bass is dialed down, but overall the soundstage is better than the LP's and the SQ is far more superior than the LP's.

The M80 will sound really good with pounding bass on house music played on a streaming channel like Vmoda's channel, but with most average MP3's they would not sound like they have a lot of bass.

So does that mean you own the M-80's?

Is it okay if you gave a quick impression/review/how do they sound?!basshead.gif I am dying to know how they sound, so i can be more sure of taking the plunge to buy my first >$100 headphones, because they look fantastic, and some say they sound superb too. Thank you.

It'a hard to describe them. I've heard a lot of different headphones, and these don't sound like anything else exactly. My impression at first was all midrange, because they don't have that bassy sound like many headphones at the Apple store. But when I play the house music, or any MP3 with real bass, the bass is amazingly good. The highs are soft and you can boost them without problems - they don't get harsh or anything. Boosting the bass may be OK for some tracks but not others. My opinion is you gotta live with the quality of bass you have in the music or if you boost bass it gets muddy a lot of the time. I guess my feeling is the V80 is cleaner sounding than most, probably because the bass isn't all boosted up, so I think it's a safe purchase since you can tune it easily any way you like. But is it worth $200 compared to everything else? Maybe not on sound quality alone, but with the build quality if that's important, maybe yes.

But V-Moda has a killer warranty right? 50% off your next pair if your first pair ever spoils. So do you recommend or know any other portable/closed/opened headphones in the $200 range that could/would beat the M-80's in sound quality? Thank you.

I like the Vmoda quality the best, but I give the edge in sound to the Phiaton MS400, as far as warmth and the luscious mid and upper midrange are concerned. But if you're willing to tweak the EQ on the Vmoda V80, you'll get better sound than the MS400.

Hey fellow head-fiers, i am from Singapore. So any Singaporeans or anyone not from the US that has bought the M-80's? I read that the US$35 expedited shipping, is strictly for the shipping only and that i would have to incur any extra tax or whatnot that the Singapore side charges. Does anyone know how much extra besides the shipping they will be charging? Also, how long would the shipping take? Thank you so so so much for answering!

For items with a value below SGD$300, there will be no tax charged, so I think you can be rest assured that there will be no extra charges besides the shipping. Shipping will depend on the shipping method used, but it should not be any longer than a month at the most in the most extreme of cases. ( unless your package goes missing) Hope this helps :)

Just checked the shipping method, and UPS should be fast. Expect your package in about 1-2 weeks. :) Also, there will be tracking, so you will be able to get a rough estimate of the time needed for the item to get to you.

Hey, thanks dude. What if it's like barely above $300 like around $305?

Hmm, if its possible, get the seller to declare the item at a lower value. Many sellers on ebay actually do that to prevent any custom taxes.
