I've had this Stanton for a few years, and have a cheap pyle preamp I bought off amazon. I want to upgrade it a bit and get a better sound. I'm a really newbie when it comes to vinyl rigs and whatnot. I want to upgrade to a Grado green cartridge, or a blue. As far as pre-amps and amps go, this is where I am confused. I have a cheap set of JBL computer speakers, but I would like to cut that out of the picture if I'd like and be able to listen to records by headphones, possibly by connecting right into the preamp or amp. Would that be correct? Just something that would give me a good sound when connecting my Grado's 225's or other headphones. Any suggestions on what to buy would be great. Thanks.
