I just sent an email to Moon Audio. We will see what happens.

I doubt it will make much of a difference.  Most stores will only have a 30-90 return policy, and for any actually warranty repairs they'll just refer you to Sennheiser.  Amazon support is second to none in my experiences.

I prefer to buy them from a headphone dealer. It seems so much more wise to do it that way.

Honestly, I am still wavering between the DT880/600 and the HD600. I really love a slightly bright sound, I guess that I just like for my music to sound really clear. Some reviewers have called music in the HD600 "hazy". I don't like the sound of that. Has anyone had both? I need some more help deciding between the two.

On a shaving forum I visit, someone purchased a quality shaving cream directly through Amazon, and they received a counterfeit product.  This just happened today.  Although I have no doubt that Amazon will fix the problem, it should be noted that the item in contest was sold and shipped through Amazon.

It sure is. I only had my Beyer DT 880 a couple weeks when the left driver went out. I sent them back to Amazon for a replacement and they shipped out the new ones the day after I filed the claim, without even having the bad ones back first and they emailed me a return shipping label too. I thought that was pretty impressive. Most companies require that you send the broken item first and once they receive it, then they ship out the new ones. Not Amazon. They want to make sure you're happy.

I buy a ton of stuff through them and have never had a bad experience. Even buying used items through Amazon has been a  good experience.

I bought a 'used' HD600 off amazon through its marketplace.  Contact the seller and you will get an idea whether they are fraudulent.  My HD600's arrived in very good condition (new pads, no chips in paintwork etc.) at £155.10.  You can decent deals if you use common sense.

I think the term "hazy" comes from a perceived lack of treble sparkle or clarity from those who are used to or prefer a bright or brighter sound signature.  Sennheiser's headphones have tradionally been more relaxed in sound signature with a smoother treble presence that is not quite as pronounced as other brands like Beyerdynamic or Grado.  The HD600 is still a very detailed headphone with a slightly more laid-back presentation compared to the brighter DT880.
