Dac + PC = major audio delay

Hi there

I am using my headphone setup for gaming on my pc.

I looks like this:

PC (motherboard usb port) -> (10m long usb cable - neccessary) -> DacMagic -> Meier Corda HA-2 mk ii -> 5m headphone cable -> HD600.

The delay is something like 0.5seconds. I know this a lot of cable, but i didn't think it mattered, since data through usb cables and audio through headphone cables just seems... effortless ?

What can i do about this? The DacMagic has Coax and Optical inputs too... ? A soundcard for the pc?

Please help me out here :)

Much appreciated

Are you sure it's not the buffer of whatever software your are using? Or maybe delays due to VSTs?

There shouldn't be delays due to long cables. Did you try other games and the same problem occurs?

It seems the problem was only with a single game. So i guess its just an issue with the drivers.

Thanks for the replies
