annoying Cowan J3 problem, please help me!

I have one problem with my J3 that I just cant seem to fix.  If I do not touch it or leave it on pause for more than 2 minutes, it shuts down and powers off completely.  I've been through the settings menus and such and just cant stop this from happening, anything in the Display or System menu that could control this were toggled OFF yet it still happens?

what the heck am I doing wrong, i love this dap but having it power down on me if i leave the track paused for more than 2 minutes is immensely annoying, having to power it back up and have it scan the sd card for another minute or two is upsetting.  Any help is appreciated

Are you sure it 100% powers off, it might be battery saving mode where after a certain time of inactivity, the screen turns off but can easily be turned on again with the bottom left button. If it does completely shut down, then it might be a problem. I've had this issue at the beginning as well but got the hang of it after a while.

it completely shuts off, i have to hold the power button to turn it back on, then it scans the sd card for like 2 minutes and then finally i am able to browse and play media lol

what about the automatic shut off setting?  did you try to change that?  the automatic shut off is on purpose in order to save power when accidently forgetting the dap on,but that could be changed through the automatic shut off setting,if i am not wrong you can set it to never.  I don't rememver exactly what is the specific nevigation to that setting, but it should be easy to find it via the mene.  it should be on the "system" settings if i am not wrong.

I did, I played with every setting including sleep mode and every setting there is.  All became well after I reset it and loaded the new firmware again.  Seems fine now, doesn't auto power off so i guess it was a bad install?  Idk, but im happy now :)

glad your problem is solved.  this is the first time i read about such mistake like bad install.  it is not like regular bug that everybody got.
