Actually I broke mine months ago and the lost my left ear piece completely along with severely damaged cable (bad accident). I called them to buy a new cable and left ear piece but they replaced mine with a brand new one under warranty, but told me that I cannot claim for warranty anymore. Ofcource they gave me choice to whether buy all the parts on my own and keep the warranty or replacing with a new one by using up the warranty. Also don't send your ear buds and the carrying case. Now I have two sets of them smily_headphones1.gif . They took around two weeks to replace mine in India.

Funny ;-)....he's saying his cable is made-of-silver not colored silver....lol

silver gets black when oxidizing

copper goes green

gold goes gold.

I tried different upgrade cables, including silver one, but I did not notice any decrease in bass. I noticed more balanced sound first of all...
The first thing about decreasing bass came to my mind is seal and fit... That must be perfect, when you use IE80...

In ears at this Price should come without having to upgrade them, but as far as bass goes, Comply might be the solution, as I use them with succes with my Rock it Sounds R5. I think the 200 series might work for this model.

it's 500 for comply on the IE80.

you could put on a 400, but you might have to force a little, something you NEVER want to do on the nozzle of an IE8/80.

Thought this was very cheap http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Sennheiser-IE80-In-Ear-Headphones.aspx , but im afraid that maybe its a fake, anyone have experience with this site before?

I've been using the medium silicone tips that came with my ue900's and I find that they insulate really well ..and sound good too . I think the supplied tips give you a better soundstage though..I still believe imo that these were made to not insulate that well on purpose so there is a little more air movement..just my opinion of course :-)

I always used to use 400's on my '8's. Iirc that is Comply's recommendation.

The best info I can find is this:

Does anyone know how the IE80 pair with the Nexus 5?

500 series is for ie80 from comply. I also used them. gives good seal, but you have to change it every 2 weeks. thats why i decided to have custom sleeves. if u r planning to use ie80 for 1-5-2 years at least, it is worth to invest.
