exactly...... i thought this is going to happen due to the glue.. it seems like the aggressive notes sounds mushhy due to glued components....

Hey guys.

i have a pair of ie 80s but am struggling to achieve a decent fit with the stock tips.

the best results are with the large foam tips.

i am thinking about getting comply tips to see if they are better.

stupid question but are the complys sized the same as the included stock tips? Would large do me or should i get a mixed pack?

i am pretty frustrated as, when these things are decently sealed, they sound amazing.

any help is appreciated

Mobeast are better than Comply for foamies but foamies have clarity issues. I found that the complys were a bit to large for my ears and I was only using mediums

JVC gels work well

Are you is the US? If so you should try AUVIO tips from Radio Shack. I had the same issues as you until I found these tips. They fit and seal amazingly well. They come in S, M, L.

I am in the UK, no Radioshack here im afraid!

Comply tips are easy to come by overe here so they could be worth a go.

From what I have read over time, usually here in HeadFi, Comply's usually have a detrimental affect on the highs. Make sure if you try them to get the T-500's with the size large bore, T-400's are NOT correct.

Lee730 seems to like the JVC jelly's that are on Ebay. I find them too wimpy - much like the stock Senn tips. If you really want to try some AUVIO's I may be willing to buy you some and send 'em to you. US International Postage is incredibly cheap, like $2. PM me if you are interested.

I'm using the TX 500 Comply's and they seem pretty good.

So tonight I was just letting some stuff play on Soundcloud and one song came up that thoroughly impressed me with these earphones (IE8, IE80 are still in the mail). I normally don't listen to this kind of music, but it showed me how low these things are capable of going seemingly without falling off much. I've definitely never heard another IEM that was capable of doing something like that so well.

OMG, that is low! The only thing I can compare it with is a 32 foot organ pipe

The RHA's ad says "soft silicone". I don't think they are the same as AUVIO's.

AUVIO's are dual density also known as "hybrid" in the Sony terminology. The silicone collar around the nozzle is hard silicone but the bulb is soft and silky. It's this dual density construction that makes them fit so well. Plus they are offset toward the ear more than the stock eartips or Ortofons as an example, so they sit deeper into your ears and seal very well. 

Hey guys.... have anyone had any bad experience with sennheiser customer service.. as it for me . GOD!!! im done with this. i emailed them more that 10 tyms... yet not even a single reply. even my local dealer is hopeless ( who says that they can only do a glue job since they dont have IE80's for sell ) ... i told my local dealer to contact sennheiser ; yet no action..... i mean come on?? why the hek sennheiser cant even talk with me? i have this defective IE80's for 4-5 days.. not a single answer from sennheiser??  Could any sennheiser agent  help me out of this mess?? really shamed of there customer care...
