I'm sure we all need to learn to be patient at times, some more then others ;)

We can always count on James to come to the rescue :). James don't let us down lol. I sure hope the IE80s claims the spot that it should (the micro version of HD600/650). You gonna set a Guinness world record for the largest IEM collection at this rate very_evil_smiley.gif

Don't know if this is important but i see them on bestbuy for $550.
Don't know if they've officially come out in the US or if bestbuy slipped, not much of an IEM guy and about to go to sleep so no time to read this thread.

What upsets me is the fact that Sennheiser was boasting lowering the price of this update by up to 30% and they have the audacity to raise the price instead. Sennheiser you better have fixed the IE8s issues, otherwise shame on you. It's never right to use your name to sell crap products. That very mentality brought the American auto-makers to their knees.

I bought a pair of IE8i on sale for $360 US. If the price is really $550 US for the IE 80, I really don't think it's worth it.

Not at all, I'm not even close to Mark and some others here. Moreover, part of my collection is always on loan somewhere, so my shelves are actually rather empty. wink.gif

Regarding price, the IE80 cost about €280 ($380) here, the IE8 were initially about €250 (IIRC) and came down to €200 within the first few months.

Well the most I'd want to pay is $300.00. I'd like to pay under that if possible. Me and burtmor were gonna buy together. I figure if enough of us do buy together we should be able to easily haggle them to around $260.00 I'd bet. But I ain't spending a dime until I hear your impression James. If the veil is gone, that is enough for me to pick them up. I just hope they don't burn out though and become too mellow like the IE8 does with extended use. One thing I must admit about the IE8. Its the IEM to give me the most "WOW" moments out of all the other equipment I've had (Denon 5000/EX1000/FX700). Its also has given me countless out of head experiences where I'm looking behind me because I thought I heard something, when in actuality that is the from the recording.
