where do you find a $350 ie80 (new)? the prices i usually see are around $450 and up for new, and authentic (there are quite a few knockoffs of them)
they list it at $450, they might give at most $50 but, not to discourage to try, $100 off is unlikely
edit: just checked them, they actually do have $100 off discounts but not for the ie80
No that's not true at all. If you contact him via email and ask him he can give you a good deal. I got my pair for $330.00 and that was quite some time ago. You may be able to get him lower if you mention the recent sales. Seems like you can get them from Germany Amazon for $270.00.

Because Sennheiser originates from Germany :). I got my first pair of IE8s for $260 so it just depends on where you find the deals. Just make sure you are dealing with an authorized dealer or you are pretty much screwed when it comes to warranty support.

Well shoot, I'm glad you pointed that out. I think I'll just order them through Amazon Germany for 278. That's a pretty damn good deal.
edit: done. ie80 are on their way from germany!

I have yet to have that happen ;). I've ordered a crap load of stuff from China, some stuff from Japan, and not once; knock on wood :P.
So I ended up getting my IE80 from Amazon UK because I'm an idiot who didn't realize it was in GBP and not Euros, by the time I realized it I already had the package open and it wouldn't be worthwhile to mail it back half way across the world. For purchases shipped to Canada they withheld import duty on my behalf, I don't think I'm gonna get any of it back after brokerage fee and the standard 12% tax. In any case it works out to be the same or cheaper than Razordog (with discount and shipping and brokerage and duty and all to canada), but I'm still kicking myself for spending 70 more than I should have.
I had a terrible time getting a good seal though, although the IE80 isn't as large as the pictures made them out to be coming from a Klipsch X10i it was gigantic. I couldn't get a proper seal wearing it either up or down and if I pushed it in too hard the housing just ends up hurting my ears. I ended up buying a pair of Sony headphones for 10 bucks just for the hybrid tips, I'm using the large ones now and they fit MUCH better. I wouldn't say they're perfect and I would like to try say, the Shure Olives or the Monster Supertips or something, but for now my adventures with spending money will have to be curbed at least until Black Friday...

Sony hyrbid tips ruin the sound and constrict the sound stage. JVC tips and V-moda bass tips work much better IMO. The JVCs are my favorite though. I posted on it earlier in this thread. An ebay seller sells a pair of 8 for around $6.00 shipped. I use the large black ones. I'm not so sure about the other colors as they may be a different material (which means different sound and fit).
Could I trouble you to take a picture of the tips front/side/back in comparison? Thanks
(specifically I am pretty sure I need the large)

What tips do you use now? I found if you are using large now, then stick with large. I tried buying other tips and it was still large that only gave me a seal. The tips are not as large as they look in the pics ;).
Sorry I meant side by side comparison with stock large or sony hybrid. :P Specially I was wondering if it was taller or shorter in comparison and whether or not the JVC tips are fatter at the top. I think the Sony Hybrids are the same height as the stock but they have wider top which is why it actually lets me get a seal. Thanks again!
