So that's like 350 US? And you think they're 100% worth that tag?

Used pairs have a greater chance of breaking...up to you. I also saw $350 on Amazon deal, otherwise, look elsewhere

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B006EK9J9S/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Look closer to the bottom, $350 + $5 shipping...

I'd say a definite yes, I've spent £400 on a set of Shure E5's and at £220 for the IE80's, they're better value and sound much, much better. I'm extremely pleased with mine.

You can also get a new IE80 for that price in the US. You just need to know where to look.

Yeah I'm really considering these. I'd rather buy from Amazon so I can be stupid and put them on my Amazon Store Card. Only way I'll pay cash is if I can sell the Beyers in my sig.

Are these leaps and bounds ahead of Yamaha EPH-100? Somebody also suggested I look at the new UE900.

It depends on what you are looking for anoxy. Do you want a fun sound because the IE80s are it. From reviews they are a significant upgrade over the EPH-100, more detailed, bigger sound stage, much better build quality. There is no comparing them to be honest. It's not a fair fight. The UE900 is a completely different animal. It's sound stage will not be comparable to the IE80, and it's a more neutral sound. If you want neutral then consider the UE900.

Well then I think I'm sold. Because a fun sound is exactly what I'm looking for. I just want a pair of IEMs that I can wear everywhere and all the time and enjoy every genre of music on my iPod. My Etys are amazing, but if I want to enjoy some bass heavy dance music or hip-hop, I have to use my amp which gets cumbersome.

I enjoyed the GR07 but the sibilance was a bit annoying. I'm assuming the IE80 are significantly better IEMs though.

ive listened to them and they are super fun- cant wipe a grin off my face

also read the heir audio 3ai reviews- similar in the bass, with better clarity in the mids and highs is what ive read in the comparisons between them and the ie80 so far

plus cheaper

I'm curious about hearing comparisons between their sound stages.

The heir audio 3ai look interesting, but I don't know how much patience I have to make an audiologist appointment and go through that whole process haha.

The IE80 are better than the GR07s in my opinion, but the GR07s are very good and I can see how some people can like it over the IE80s.

Can't compare the EPH100s to the IE80s though, not even close.

Got used to the Sennheiser sound signature and now when I use the EPH100s at work, they just sound sub-par.

Oh ****, I didn't realize. Their website store is a little funky.

Well now I'm seriously torn. $299 Heir 3.Ai vs. $350 IE80

You can also ask Razordog Deals to give you a discount; also mention you're a member at HeadFi :)

Or ask JR Audio and Video, I think they offer discounts too...

where do you find a $350 ie80 (new)? the prices i usually see are around $450 and up for new, and authentic (there are quite a few knockoffs of them)

they list it at $450, they might give at most $50 but, not to discourage to try, $100 off is unlikely

edit: just checked them, they actually do have $100 off discounts but not for the ie80
