Do I need a DAC in my situation??

So I decided to play with some sounds in my room and ordered something off amazon to start with..

ASUS DX Soundcard

Lepai Tripath 20W mini amp

Pair of Polk Audio Monitor30s

This is mainly for music and games sometime.. my question is that do I really need a DAC for this setup? what i'm looking to gain is "clear" sounds and i'm not really into heavy bass musics.. So will a mini DAC (headphone DAC) will do the job??

Do you realise that a DAC is, essentially, performing one function that your sound card already does?

But will an standalone DAC going after a sound card good?? i'm mean if it's better if theres a DAC between my sound card and my mini amp..

I think that you should read sth about DACs and Soundcards or computer audio..

A standalone DAC will bypass you SC..

^ Monoethylene: OP started 2 threads on same topic. You might want to post in his other thread (which was the original one)
