Hi there, 
I've been lurking around for a while but i couldnt find a straight answer for my needs. 

I currently have a Dell XPS15 with a Realtek\jbl soundcard onboard. I'll switch soon (end of the year maybe) to an iMac, due to working needs. 

I'm looking for the best option for music-movies-gaming.
My budget is around 150$ maybe 200 or more, if it's worth it. 

I got that a "gaming" headset it's probably not for me, had an awful experience with a Steelseries 7H USB, crappy SQ and even worse build quality.

So i guess MUST go with headphones and detachable mic, even if im not that happy about having two more wires tangling around.. 

In addition to that, do i have to buy an external amp\soundcard to correctly drive some more serious headphones (sennheiser hd something maybe?), did i? Im totally lost on this...

Can anyone give me some advices?
