Off that website it says:

Cables:

  • 50’ Cable: $59
  • 64’ Cable: $69

As we are promoting the UM Miracle, any buyers before Sep 30 will get an extra cable($59) for free!

So it is a an extra cable actually.

Also, that sounds pretty good to me.  I can spend $55 at sears, and spend $10 to mail it no probs.!

But, how much do they charge for the ear mold??  Or does this group buy include ear molds as long as we get the impressions done and mailed out??

Also, do the headphones need to go out with my ear impressions?? Or just the impressions, then they send me molds that just attach to the buds??

Is the cable offer valid? The article on the website was posted in July 29, 2010. Lol!

Sorry about that. You can thank iPhone autocorrect. I edit more posts for that reason alone.

lol.  Never mind.

I didn't even look at the original post date!

I just assumed it was up to date and for 2011 since it didn't mention an year in the Ad.

My bad!

That explains it. Ya.

I thought I get the buds first.  Then I deal with the molds.  And they either swapped out at the bud.  Or I had to mail in the Bud.

I see I can mail in for upgrades on the website.

But for an initial custom order, this makes sense.

So now that thats cleared up for me, the only question left is, does it cost extra to get the custom molds other than my cost to do the impressions and mailing to China or Stephen??

Thanks for your explanations and help dannytang.

You have to go to an audiologist for ear impressions and you pay for those.

Once you pay for those then you can either ship them to Stephen or to um labs in china. You must pay for shipping.

The price that is listed on the first page is the price it costs for um to make your custom iem to your ear mold. There are no extra costs to get them molded to your ear because that's already included in the price for the custom iem. The price includes the drivers inside of your custom iem as well.

Hopefully that helps clear things up for you.

it does indeed.   I had one more question, but I directed it at Stephen in a PM.  And then all is answered for me.

Thanks Poetik

How much do these impressions cost?

Would it sound good just straight out of iphone 4 without any amp and LOD?

Impressions are $50 most places. Maybe less, maybe more depending on where you live. According to the UM specs, all their IEMs should be fine from an iPhone 4.

Do you have to get new impressions every time you get new customs? Not that you would have to get multiple customs in the first place, but hey, I like having gear...

Woohoo!! Perfect timing. Just when I wanted to try out the Miracle after reading the reviews.
