Anyone else see some potential there?  I know for$28-38 its would be a fun experiment.

Yes I just took a look at the projects website, I would surely be in for one when they become available.  That would be fun for a variety of different projects, from a music server to a front door greeting box that snaps a pic and stores it for future id.

Looks like these are to be released soon.  I would like to play with one, put my name down for a pre-order.  At 30 bucks how can you lose?

Lots of applications, sky is the limit.  Only 4 watts and so small.  Lots of battery/solar uses as well.

Considering the going price, it has huge potential, and even more so if one just gets the circuit board rather than a pre-assembled unit.

My first doubt regarding it is if it can manage low DPC latency values by default, and everything else can be done through software.

If it is used as a dedicated media player and not multitasking it has advantages over even lower power PCs as CPU, RAM, GPU, north and south bridge all being on the same die.  I would assume latency would be fairly low.

I'm gonna get one when option "B" is available. When it arrives, I plan on installing OpenELEC and XBMC on it. This is a good resource for tool and help topics.
