Digital audio-only PCI soundcard

Hi,

 

is there any PCI soundcard with only a digital output (toslink or RCA), no analog outputs?

There is the Emu 1212m the mothercard 1010i. Affraid you have to buy the analog card too,
there are also some options from RME but a bit on the expensive side.

Well why dun you just get a PCI bracket for your motherboard with coax/optical out?

But that one would have to use the onboard soundcard , right?

Well, I was looking for a stand-alone soundcard, not using the onboard one.

Lynx and RME have digital output only models.

 

The Juli@ soundcard has analog outputs on a reversible section of the board.  You can remove that section and have a digital only soundcard.

Why? Unless the card you have in mind makes use of sound processing like Dolby stuff, it will have little or no bearing on the quality of digital output. Sound cards only matter for sound processing, digital-to-analog conversion, and amplifying.
