Hi, Im very new to high end headphones and was wondering what would be the best option for running some Sennheiser HD 595's. Would running out of my laptop be ok? or through the output on some desktop speakers or should i invest im some kind of amp?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

You might get a better DAC, not worth to get an amp.

The hd595 is not very detailled and works fine with a lot of sources.

Do you think this would be a good option?

I would personally get an FIIO E7 (portable dac & amp). I'm not sure  that getting a tube amp for the hd595 would be a good idea, the headphone is neutral you don't want to add some coloration, and it is perhaps a bit veiled too  .

Thanx that looks like a good option!!! i just got the phones and pluged them into my external speakers and im impressed! much better than from my laptop and no noise when nothings playing so i might hold of a dac/amp for a while but thank you for your advise!

You'd get a better  benefit from a better DAC, than from amping. AFAIK, the E9  doesn't have an integrated DAC, but you can get the E7/E9  combo, so that you take advantage of the E7  DAC, and the supposed better E9  amp.

Basically the E7, will replace the onboard soundcard of your laptop, by using an USB  connection.
