Amp for akg q701?

Since I'm not in the states or Europe, my choices are fairly limited for getting an amp.

 

What according to you will sound good with the AKG Q701 and does anyone have any experience

 

or will they just be a waste of time and more importantly money :|

 

 

The choices are:

 

  1. Fiio e7/e9 combo
  2. Hifiman head-direct ef2a
  3. Qinpu a1(dual vacuum tubes) / a1 / q1 / q2 / uv9 / dk2
  4. Soundmagic a10
  5. Audiotrak model prodigy cube

 

I'm Confused, a lot!  any help will be appreciated

Throw out a budget & your musical taste. Portables aren't going to push them to their optimum.

I agree, you'll want a desktop amp to get the most out of those.

Have you considered building your own or having someone build one for you? If there is an electronics repair shop nearby, they can build an excellent amp for you. Order a kit of what you want and they can put it together and build a case.

I like to listen to almost every genre but haven't leveled up to listen to classics or jazz etc.

 

I live in india and my budget is about 200$ and there is no one here who even remotely knows about headphones let alone build an amp.

Or hell, even SS. Audio-GD is highly regarded, and have many different price points.

Maybe a pre-loved Channel Islands VHP-1 and get the upgraded power supply later.  Really good amp.  Stupid good for the money.

Well, any places where i could source these amps?

 

Any help will be appreciated.

 

or any other amps in the price range?

 

I have a pair of xb500's to complement the Q701(which hopefuly i will get) so i don't really plan to even try to increase the bass perception at all, all i want the amp

Try to contact bhanja_trinajan's he is a member here. I hope he will help you. About the amp, in my experience the K-7xx series love the solid state amp's, you can get the Meier Audio Corda headfive on the FS forum for around 160-$180.
