Good for you....

The only Ultrasone pro2900 and Ultrasone pro900 owner on Head-fi (?) is signing up on this thread.

Feel free to ask me any questions, although the pro2900 are rather new and are still burn-in. popcorn.gif

Pro 900 pads look soft a bit fluffy.

Pro 2900 pads look stiffer sorta Pro 2500ish not fluffy.

Are they?

dont know if I should pull the trigger on the hfi2400 as it seems these on par with grado when it comes to sound leakage, can anyone confirm?

In order of purchase hfi15g, Zino, hfi2200 v.2, hs15, PRO2900.

I originally bought the 15g to see what the ultrasone sound was like then fell madly in love with it. The 15g is also my go to portable. The Zino was bought at a deep discount. 2200 was purchased used and became my favorite multipurpose headphone. The hs15 was bought for console gaming. The 2900 was purchased yesterday and this is the 3rd time I've fell madly in love with ultrasone.

As far as source and amplification, I currently use an m-stage class A bias mod with dual OPA0627's connected to my pc, 8gb zune, and an hp touchpad.

I have both the silver and black pads for the pro 900. The black ones are stiffer than the silver ones and are also rougher. The pro 2900 have pads that are a bit thinner than the pro 900's, but not shallower. They are about as stiff, if not stiffer than the black pads of the pro 900, however they are far smoother than both pro 900 pads. All in all. I find the pro2900 to be the most comfortable, because they are lighter, smoother and clamp just right (a bit more than pro 900).

Doesn't your ears touch the inner plate on your 2900 because of the thinner pads?

Mine did and i have relatively small ears..

Quite uncomfortable i would say...

Since this is the Ultrasone fan club thread, anyone know which Ultrasone is the bassist ? My DJ1 PRO doesn't have the crazy thumping bass I was expecting.

No, actually the pro2900 have slightly thicker pads (just did a side by side). All 4 pads I have for the pro2900s are of equal thickness, so I find your experience rather baffling. In fact, my ears tend to touch the mu shield of the pro900 and not the pro2900's.

Something is wrong here and confusing....

I again say that the 2900 that i found from a friend had thinner pads compared to 900 and my ears did touch the shield, something that doesn't happen with pro 900 pads.....

Sorry, I changed my wording. I meant to say that the pro900 have thicker yet shallower pads.

how is the 2900 bass compared to its closed brethren?; given ultrasone mentioned in there ed10 video having to create a more powerfull driver secipifclally for it's openess and given the fact that ultrasone stated the 2900 driver is a 900 driver retuned, I am interest to hear if you feel any less bass when switching between the too. thanks  I was hoping the lcd 2  whould be the open bass fest however a recent post stating its defieciency in this regard aswell as someone metioning the rev 2 is skewed even more toward the treble perceptually speaking gives me thanks as i have not made that purchase. however i still remain interested in a open pro 900 if it can remaine bass king

I didn't notice any differences when it comes to bass..

They sounded identical with the same tracks that i tested them..

The only time that i felt Pro 900 bass going lower with more depth was only with some heavy bass techno tracks...

I was amazed by Pro 2900 because i didn't expect to match his big bassy brother because of it's open nature...
