I must have too many bright headphones, the HFI-2400 sounds quite dark to me.
Be careful, that isn't a recommended gear pairing. The Lyr works best with higher impedance headphones, and can blow the HFI-580 out if you push them too hard.
The Schiit Asgard would be a much better pairing.
But all headphone amplifiers, unless badly designed, will NOT blow your headphones off as long as you use it sensibly.
It's quite simple, the Lyr isn't made for low impedance headphones.

HFI-780 for sure . Awesome tight accurate deep bass, forward clear mids, and a sparkly treble. It's just what you need.
