Lepai LP-2020A+ Class-T amplifier, uses the Tripath TA2020 chip. This is recent version that fixes some reliability problems that the old one had. It has both RCA and a minijack for the input, and has a tone control defeat button on the front panel. It is rated at 20wpc but that is at 10% distortion...who wants that! More reasonable specs are 0.03% THD at 9 watts per channel into 4 ohms, and 0.1% THD at 6 watts into 8 ohms. I have checked these power levels with a scope and they have a clean sine wave at this output with both channels driven. I am using two other identical amps, one with inefficient (86db) NHT SuperOne speakers used as computer monitors, and the other with 90db Boston Acoustic A70II speakers in my garage and it does a good job with driving both even though they are 8 ohm speakers; for these setups this is enough power for the volume levels I want.
The unit I am selling is new except that it has a simple mod consisting of replacing the 3500uF power supply cap with a Panasonic 5600uF cap with the same 16v rating, and I tested it to make sure everything was within spec. This gives the power supply a little extra reserve for heavy bass. It comes with the original box and power adapter. I bought this because I think its an incredible deal, and since Tripath is out of business, once the chips run out these will be hard to come by, but I now have more than I need. I can take paypal but you pay the shipping. Priority mail in the US is $10.95.
