For Sale:
Red Wine Audio Isabella Vacuum-tube Headphone-Amp/DAC/Pre-amp

Will Ship To: Anywhere

For sale is my Red Wine Audio Isabella Vacuum-tube Headphone Amp/DAC/Preamp. I purchased this amp directly from Red Wine and received it in April of this year. It is in 9/10 condition.

It is the base Isabella plus the following options:
  • Isabellina DAC
  • Headphone Amplifier Stage, Balanced
  • Extra AC Adapter

I'm looking for $4,000 for it, plus shipping and paypal fees.

The unit ships with its original JJ 6922 tubes, but I also have pairs of NOS 1960's Siemens and Amperex tubes that I could throw in for a little extra.

Is this the 24/192 dac chip?

And what does it handle via USB?

Hi there,

I bought this Isabella about 3 months before the new 24-bit DAC was an option so it only has the standard 16-bit DAC chip. However, the unit is upgradable and it can be sent to Red Wine to get the new 24-bit DAC as an upgrade. As of right now handles any 16-bit signal over USB just fine.

FYI this is the SAME balanced headphone amp that is used in the Audeze Edition.

Edit: First post clarified.

I can't be the only one confused here. A new Isabella HPA straight from RWA with the same specs costs $3035 (shipping included).

You must be referring to the Red Wine Isabellina HPA seen here. Yes, that unit does cost $3,000.

This is the top of the line Isabella seen here. This unit originally cost $6,500. Even though the names are similar there is a big difference.

The primary difference are that the cheaper Isabellina HPA uses a single tube as a buffer while the top of the line Isabella has a full vacuum tube preamplifier stage leading to better performance.

The Isabella also has three analog inputs in case you already have another DAC or source you like. The Isabellina HPA has no analog inputs and does not allow you to bypass its internal DAC.

I hope that clears up some of the confusion.
