I just got my akg q701 in and was looking at geting the  Lyr amp and did not know what tubes should i get in it the GE 6BZ7 NOS Tubes or the JJ E88CC Tubes and what Voltage would be the best 115 / 230 sorry this is my first time buying an headphone amp jecklinsmile.gif

The GE 6BZ7 is better than the JJs, many fellows had confirmed that so did I. Try some Siemens&Halske CCa Grey getter if you can, it is considered the best tubes for Lyr, have a look at the Lyr's tube rolling thread for more impressions about these awesome tubes, the voltage DC is not really a matter, choose which is suitable for you.

Get whatever tubes you want. I went GE 6BZ7. They're great out of the box.

Voltage is based on your country's standard. If you're USA/Canada, 115. If you're UK/EU, likely 230.

Very best,

Thats dangerous advice... "trying to run a 115V unit on a 230V will result in a blown fuse, no music, and a void warranty"

115V for US/CA, 230V for EU
