Anyone else seen/tried the 'Second Remaster' floating around the internet? Also does anyone know its origins? Waveform comparison of Monarchy of Roses 'Second Remaster'  wav file with CD ripped FLAC version on the bottom:

Been doing a little more research:

'The person who remastered the album used this method:

It's not a remaster...more like a re-process. All the distortion and negative effects of the compression and mixing are still there.

 

It take some serious knowledge and heavy processing to remove those negative effects and even then...it still won't be perfect.

 

THERE IS NO WAY TO COMPLETELY FIX CALIFORNICATION OR I'M WITH YOU WITHOUT USING THE MASTER TAPES/TRACKS!

Vlado struck again with the new Jane's Addiciton album. Not quite as bad as I'm With You, but not that much better either.

 

Shame, the new JA album rocks. The vinyl sounds better, but it's certainly not going to be demo material either.

 

Wish WB would press more Stadium Arcadium, can't find it for under $70 right now. Suppose I should probably pick up a copy before you can't find it for under $200.
