so my question is why do i notice much less distortion clipping with both reply gain at none and pre-amp at 0and with advanced limiter, my music sound much better now? atleast in the tracks i noticed some distortion/clipping?

so is it good to use Advanced limiter and ReplyGain at none and pre amp at 0? or should i revert the changes?

Are your files tagged with RG?  Album or Track?  At home I use RG with pre-amp at around +3 (album).  When I use RG with my iPod (Rboxed) I usually set pre-amp to about +5.  Never distortion.  I don't use either limiter (advanced or hard) on Foobar, though.  I tried it years ago and did not like the effect.

Cheers

My usual home setting

Hello H...

For RG to work the files have to have the RG metadata.  Right click an album and:

But if you like the sound, no worries then...ENJOY!!!
