So I was looking for some good bass monster headphones as my next upgrade, and then I realised something. It would be pretty nice to have a thread dedicated to all bass monster headphones out there. It would also be nice to see hidden gems not very well known on head fi being mentioned here. To start the thread off, heres a picture of the Skullcandy Skullcrushers basshead.gif

There are a lot of threads requesting picking bassy iems/headphones

I guess a "bassy iems guide" thread should be made as well

But good bass is subjective. Some like punchy bass, some just like the quantity etc.

What exactly does one mean with "good bass" though? For instance, the HD800 has extremely accurate, controlled Bass. It's not nearly as loud or as enhanced as some $100 Skullcandies, but some audiophiles will argue that the HD800 have a "better bass" because it's more neutral.

I started the basshead thread a while after this thread. Now there is a list of basshead headphones in OP made by me and a bunch of other basshead. Check my sig.

Are the Fostex TH-5 and TH-7 bass heavy as well or are they on the neutral side?

ZO + XB500 will even shake just as much as those Skullcrushers without the need of a vibrator haha.

Is it really necessary to have two different threads, I think the basshead thread would suffice.

Pro 900's. Bass quality and quantity are great.
